Editing our Rough Cut

After reviewing our footage we realized that we don't have as much as we thought we did. So we are going to organise with Louise and Joe on another day that they are both free, in order to re - film certain scenes. However we have decided to create a rough cut which will act as a sort of foundation for our actual music video.

We began by using the footage of the drive, as we knew that this scene was going to act a prelude to our music video.  We uploaded our footage into Imovie and selected parts that we wanted to use in our rough cut. We trimmed certain areas down and re-ordered other sections around in order to create this first part of our rough cut. 

As you can see from the shots below, we have experimented with the colour filters and effects that are available on IMovie. We are going to continue with the experimentation of the different filters to see if there are any that we would prefer to use instead of black and white.

The screen shot above shows how we began by detaching the audio from our main video so that we could add this to our rough cut in order to make it a more realistic representation of what we want our music video to become.

This screenshot shows how we began by creating the 'drive scene', this scene is going to act as a prelude to our music video. We experimented with the effects and filters on Imovie to see which one we preferred for our final music video.

This screenshot shows that our rough cut is definitely underway, however if you look close you can see that we have had to use the same shots more than once, this makes our rough cut look repetitive. However we only had to do this as we didn't have as much footage as we thought we did.

This screenshot above is the 'happy accident' shot , it is going to act a as kind of flashback to a happier time. We are also going to experiment with this shot in black and white and in colour as we are unsure which filter to use in our rough cut.
